Attendance and timekeeping

For KS1, school starts at 8.50 am each day and all pupils will be ready to pick up in the afternoon at 3:10pm.

For KS2, we start at 8.45am and finish at 3.15pm.

Don’t panic :). Just bring them in through the main front entrance and they can sign in at the office.

Just contact the office and we will do what we can to help until you can arrange a collection.

Our school ‘pick up’ procedure requests that parents and carers notify the school in advance as to which adult/s will generally collect their child. This information will be collected at the beginning of each year and where possible, photographs of adults can be sent to school to support this handover.

We also ask you to confirm if there are adults who should not collect your child.

We understand that there may be times where a different adult may need to collect your child. If this is the case you must contact the school office to inform us as soon as possible.

If there is any doubt as to who is picking up, we will always contact parents.

We will not allow older siblings under the age of 18 years old to collect a child.

Please contact the school office to explain the situation.

Check the term dates from our website.

Term Dates

Please try to arrange holidays out of term time.
You can obtain a holiday request form from the office.

We will do our best to inform you as soon as possible about any school closures. We will use Parentmail and our school website to keep you updated. Sometimes information regarding closures is also relayed through local radio stations.

Food and drink

There is an hour for lunchtime. This incorporates half an hour to eat their lunch in the dinner hall, and half an hour to play in the playground.

Please check the Sue Brady Catering website to find out more.

You can also speak to the school office who can talk you through the lunch ordering system.

Please contact the school office. You may also be referred to Mrs Pennington, our school bursar for further information.

There is a water fountain in the foyer for anyone to use to fill their water bottle.

Drinking water is also available in every classroom.

We suggest that you try to provide a balanced and nutritious lunch – include fruit/veg, sandwich/wrap etc.
Talking to your child about what goes into the lunchbox each day is also beneficial so that you have had agreement in what is going to be eaten.

Usually, yes.
We would need to be mindful of any dietary requirements/allergies of the class and school before agreeing.
Please chat with the class teacher about it.

Either is acceptable, as long as all items meet our uniform policy. Please check out our uniform page and the link to School Trends.

Health Issues

Please come to the school office so we can arrange this with you.

We understand it is sometimes unavoidable to attend appointments during school time. Please contact the office to make the arrangements.

Following sickness or diarrhoea, please keep your child at home for 48 hours after their last episode. For other illnesses, please talk to the school office and follow the advice given by a health professional.

If your child becomes unwell at school, we will contact you so you can arrange to collect them at the earliest opportunity. In the event of a child sustaining an injury or becoming unwell, our First Aiders will assess and take appropriate action, in accordance with our Health and Safety policy. Please rest assured that we will always attempt to contact you where appropriate.

Please contact the school to let us know. We may need to send a message out the class/school to take any necessary steps in preventing a spread.

Getting to and from school

For quick and easy messages, please catch your child’s teacher outside at the start or end of the day. If you would like to discuss an issue at greater length, or more privately, please ask the teacher for an appointment. You could also contact the office who will pass on a message, or email the class email address.

You will have the opportunity to discuss your child’s learning at our parent meetings in Autumn and Spring, You will receive a school report at the end of the academic year. Our teachers are happy to discuss any element of your child’s learning at other times. Please get in touch.

For the older children, we understand that there may sometimes be the need to have their phone accessible for their journey to and from school. Please let the school know if your child is bringing one in and the teacher will keep it safe during the school day and return the phone to your child as they leave school.
