PE

We love Physical Education (PE) at our school! The PE curriculum at Langley Fitzurse offers children a chance to experience a wide range of sports, not only during their twice-weekly sessions but also within the wider community.Physical Education Clipart in Minimalist Art Style Art: High-Res 4K Vector

We love teaching PE because of the positive impact it has on children who may find the academic side of school challenging but then thrive in sports! We enjoy inspiring children to reach their full potential.

Enrichment in PE

We participate in various events and games organized by the Chippenham Sports Partnership. From term three, we offer swimming once a week at the Olympiad in Chippenham for children in Phoenix (Year 3-4) and Chameleon (Year 5-6).

Additionally, we provide after-school football (for KS2) and dance clubs for Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) children. We often collaborate with the Chippenham Sports Partnership to offer a range of sports, including girls-only football, multi-skills, and fun runs.

Our PE curriculum aims to inspire children to enjoy sports which will benefit them throughout their lives by promoting an active lifestyle, healthy bodies, and positive mindsets. By offering a wide range of sports, from gymnastics to swimming, we strive to make our learners physically literate and equip them with essential skills such as teamwork and body awareness. As children progress through the school, they have the opportunity to become sports leaders, gaining confidence, cooperation, and reflection skills.

Please see below for the curriculum mapping information. We use PE Passport for our teaching resources. If you wish to have specific information regarding key skills that are taught in any of the units of work, please contact the school.

The PE subject leader is Mrs. Laura Harris. Please contact the school if you have any questions about PE at Langley Fitzurse.
